Customer Review: Excellent foot warmer; unobtrusive

I purchased this about six weeks ago and couldn't be happier. My feet generally get very cold during the winter months, and my office's hardwood floors make things even worse. The Toasty Toes now lies flat under my desk where it keeps my feet comfortable, and as a result my whole body stays warmer.
When I ordered the Toasty Toes, I was concerned about the "ergonimic" part. There are actually two separate plastic pieces than can optionally be attached to unit to give it a slant. I tried them out and found them to be rather flimsy and unstable, which was fine with me since I wanted it to lie flat in the first place.
I highly recommend this unobtrusive (silent, small) and low energy heater to anyone with cold feet.

I recieved the product today and my feet have been on it for about two hours. From what I have experienced so far, this heater does exactly what I had hoped for. It is made of hard plastic so there is no odor. The swivel base is a simple but great feature that makes it comfortable right out of the box. If it didn't have the swivel base I'm sure I would have been messing around trying to figure out what to put under it to do the same thing. The low setting seems to give off a good degree of heat that seems about right for warming feet. I don't know how long the unit will last, but if you experience cold feet in the winter this is a good investment. For cold feet it is much better than a space heater and more energy efficient too.Customer Review: No more cold feet or legs!

I work in a medical office which has to have air flow constantly circulating in the treatment rooms so they won't get too warm. I was using a ceramic space heater which blows hot air - not very good to use under my desk which could cause the computer to overheat, much less the expense of running one of those! Anyhow, the docs suggested Toasty Toes. I just received it today, plugged it in and it works wonderfully! I can even feel the heat through my shoes and on my calves. It's not overly hot under the desk, so the computer is a bit more safe! I recommend this to anyone who suffers from cold feet in the winter! I'm even thinking about getting one for my desk at home! I got this to keep my feet warm in my office. It only has two settings (low and high). The low setting is too hot to be able to put your feet on it, even with socks and slippers on. I've tried wearing shoes on it and while it makes it more bearable I end up with sweaty feet. Based on other reviews it appears that the Low/High settings are not consistent. Some people complain it's too hot and others that it's too cold. It doesn't feel like a sturdy piece of equipment, the price is definitely too high for the quality you get especially with the inconsistent heating.
I have stopped using mine for now but I may switch to using it as a panel on High without putting my feet on it.

This heated footrest has saved me from the horror of frozen toes. It's made of sturdy plastic and the lower of the two settings provides more than enough warmth. The only downside is that it's easy to leave switched on and turning it on and off involves some grovelling around under the desk. Happily both these problems are solved by adding a Intermatic TB121C Digital Tabletop Lamp and Appliance Timer which both allows you to set a couple of daily "off" times (so the footrest is never left on for more than a few hours) and also provides a desktop on/off switch.
