Tools and Hardware Reviews of Indus-Tool FWXXX Cozy Electric Foot Warming PadCustomer Review: Smells Summary: 2 Stars
As a foot-warmer, it is top notch.
But as other reviewers have mentioned, the product also produces an extremely pungent odor.
The smell reminds me most of cat pee. I actually suspected my two frolicsome felines before I was able to conclusively track the source of the smell to the foot heater. The smell is also quite lingering.
This might be a great product for a garage or an outdoor work area, but I don't think I'd recommend it for use in bedrooms or other living areas. I wouldn't mind a rubber smell, but this product does not smell like any rubber I've run across in my travels!
Customer Review: Very Nice Foot Warmer!!! Chazzzzz Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my Mom. She has always had cold feet. She is toasty warm all over NOW! The winter in Colorado can be very cold and the cost to heat a large room is not cheap!
I read the other comments and worried about the rubber smell. Well I plugged in the unit and a little smell on high heat and soon the smell was gone. She never smelled anything and was so happy about her feet/legs >> WHOLE BODY WARM ! HIGH HEAT WAS TO WARM SO I AM GLAD I BOUGHT the $15 switch that allows you high/low and on off settings! BUY it if you know someone that has cold feet!
Soooooo glad I found this item!
Customer Review: ... and it magically DISAPPEARS, too. Summary: 1 Stars
On December 13th, this item showed back ordered until December 20th on amazon.com. So I ordered it directly from Today's Concepts web site, where they showed it in stock, and with an additional 5% coupon. By December 15th they were showing the item is available on amazon.com, but told me in email that the item I ordered from their web site is now back ordered. Order it from another seller if you ever want to receive it, and not have your credit card actually charged for fictional merchandise. If I ever receive this item, I will be happy to report how it works. Hopefully that will be before NEXT Christmas.
Customer Review: Great comfort item Summary: 5 Stars
I've been using this mat all winter and its worked great. My computer desk sucks cold air past my feet but this winter my feet have been toasty warm. Its -10 F outside as I write this and I can feel cold air wafting past me but this mat keeps me from turning up the thermostat.
I left it plugged in for 2 weeks initially, and it did make the garage smell like rubber. I could smell a faint rubber odor for a couple of weeks after I brought it indoors, but I haven't since. My infrared thermometer says it gets up to 155 F in spots, so you should wear shoes and be careful what you have underneath it.
Customer Review: Wonderful. Would be 5 stars except no switch Summary: 4 Stars
Bought one for my diabetic dad who has a cold basement home office. I opened it and aired it out for a couple weeks before giving it to him because of the comments from other reviewers. Yeah, it smelled for the first couple days or so that it was on, but it did go away. But it was so nice I ended up buying another one for me. I find that if my feet are warm I use the room heater much less. As other reviewers have said, it would get the full five stars except there's no switch. You have to unplug it and replug it, or else install a switch in the cord yourself or get creative with extension cords.
