Customer Review: Battery is NOT Replaceable

I was very happy with this little drill/driver when I got it new a few years ago (DuraPRO 06-132 PalmPRO 6 Volt 50-piece Set). It was great for smaller everyday jobs especially tight or hard-to-reach areas. However, the rechargeable battery finally died and couldn't recharge. The drill is in great shape and a new battery is all I need to make it good as new. However, after contacting the makers (ICC Innovative Concepts Corporation) I found out that the battery is NOT replaceable. Since my drill is now out of warranty, I was basically told to throw it away and order a new one! Oh well, at least the 50-piece set offers some condolence as extra bits for my 6 & 18 Volt Black & Decker drill/drivers. I would have given this drill 4 or 5 stars if not for the non-replaceable battery because I do like it.
Here's my advice: If you're in need for a 6 Volt drill/driver then you're far better off buying the "Black & Decker PD600 Pivot Plus 6-Volt Nicad Cordless Screwdriver with Articulating Head" (it's about the same price with FREE S&H on Amazon as the DuraPRO PalmPRO 6 Volt is). I also own the B&D PD600 and here's the best part - the battery IS replaceable for $13.67 (Item #866, P/N 5102993-00, BATTERY, 6.0 VOLT, Nicad from ServiceNET).
