Customer Review: Nice Idea but Marred and Flimsy

Glad I ordered the pewter instead of the brushed nickel, because this is see-through paper! (Applied to a white surface I imagine the nickel would be very bright.) Though head on it does indeed look like metal, at any angle it looks like water or glass because it is so glossy/reflective -- more reflective than actual metal would be. But the problem isn't as much the overall look as it is the quality of the paper itself. It was tissue thin, much thinner than other contact papers I have (and even another I ordered from the same mfr), which surprised me because it's described as "tough" and "durable". Also, thanks to being rolled and taped shut it was marred with several lines of white marks in a pattern all the way through the roll; there was no way I could cover any large amount of surface with it. The worst part was the interior of the roll, which was wrinkled and detached from the backing, which meant for not-so-sticky adhesive and LOTS of marks! Unusable. I tried the only small stretch of it I could find that was low on the white marks and found it a bit difficult to work with, so I stopped the project and returned the paper. Thankfully Amazon refunded my money.
