Tools and Hardware Reviews of Intermatic HA02C Home Settings Wireless Heavy-Duty Plug-In Appliance ModuleCustomer Review: Works perfectly with Harmony 890 Summary: 5 Stars
I've got this thing controlling an IKEA 10W light kit that can't be dimmed. Works perfectly via my Harmony 890. All you do is use the Harmony software and add the device, it will prompt you to unplug the remote and pair it with the Intermatic by holding down the button on top of the unit. The device shows up in "Activities" under "RF Control". It responds almost instantly after sending it a command.
ZWave is awesome. I later purchased the wall switch version of this to control a switched outlet. Instructions on these things are not detailed enough but I was able to figure it out. It didn't come with instructions on how to pair it, I had to rely on the Harmony for that.
Customer Review: Works Great, Could be Smaller Summary: 4 Stars
I am new to Z-wave and have a micasaverde.com Vera controller. I bought this one based entirely on price. It paired fine right away with the controller and has worked great since.
The only thing that could be better is to make it smaller and fit into sockets easier. If the socket was on the front it would also allow "wall tumors" to plug in easier.
Go ahead and get this one and you won't be disappointed. I wasn't when I bought a second one. It also paired and worked as well as the first.
Customer Review: Clicks when it needs to Summary: 4 Stars
The HA02C does what it's supposed to - when it receives a z-wave signal from a controler, it makes a click, and turns on the the appliance at the other end.
I'm using these to control CF bulb lamps - and these work like a champ in that respect. I haven't noticed any flicker due to voltage leakage in the off state - although I doubt that there is any (I haven't measured it.)
Unfortunately, there is only one one AC plug on it, and it's fairly large. Other than that, it works as advertised.
Customer Review: Not for use with sensitive electronic devices Summary: 3 Stars
One might expect, as I did, this device to operate as a switch, meaning that on means on and off means off, right? Not the case here. This device in the off position still manages to let through minimal amounts of voltage which with some electronic devices is just enough to flash the LED's and make them beep, or sound off as if they were about to turn on.
Customer Review: Making home automation simple Summary: 5 Stars
I had an X-10 automation system put in my kitchen remodeling project and it died about three years later. X-10 is subject to a great deal of interference and is a technology no longer worth investing in since there's Z-Wave. My Z-Wave system has worked flawlessly and with modules like these it's easy to add automation all around the house.
