While I only have this transformer loaded with 40 watts, it has performed perfectly for the past 7 months. Simple and economical landscape lighting power. I recommend never loading a transformer to more than 80% of its advertised capacity.

This power pack replaces the same model that we had for several years. The previous power pack was done in by the cold Northeast Ohio winters, but until then, it was great. The plastic housing shields the timing mechanism from the elements, and the unit is easy to operate. You'll love it.Customer Review: works well but very short life

We purchased one of these 18 months ago and it is now dead. Transformer shorted, while switch and motor are still good.
Has no circuit breaker so a short will kill it. Recommend buying another better made unit. Malibu units in general
are of low quality.

While not a full review I do have to add that
1. It has a sticker that proclaims: "FOR OUTDOOR USE ONLY". I was going to mount it inside on a poured basement wall (for outside lights), maybe it self-combusts?
2. It is made in Mexico

This unit is larger and functions better than the 88 watt unit that came with the kit it replaced. What is liked most was this unit has the built in timer and it allowed me to add a couple more lights. The 88 watt unit was damaged in an electrical storm.
