Tools and Hardware Reviews of Intermatic PR3C Three-in-One Emergency Power Failure Light

Customer Review: Great safety feature and easy to install
Summary: 5 Stars

We own a new condo in St. Maarten in the Caribbean and because we will be renting it, we felt that having a security feature for our guests was a must. It serves it's purpose and so we are pleased. We purchased 3 units. The nightlight feature keeps the hallway lit at night and if there were to be a power faiure, our guests would have some security in knowing they have some vision to get around until power is restored. Because it's removable, it serves as a flashlight as well. Great product to have handy in any household.

Customer Review: Works fine.
Summary: 5 Stars

Indoor use only. (2 bulbs)Orange nightlight when house power is on. White light when power is off, equivalent to a small flashlight, but lights up a standard hallway good enough to walk safely. It has a 2 position switch "Auto/on" OR "Off". Plug is polarized (one pin larger=standard for modern outlets) This means it can not be installed upside down, which is only an issue if you have something directly above the outlet. I have had it about 3 months with no problems. NiCad battery inside, says not replaceable. I would buy again.

Customer Review: They're dead when you need them..
Summary: 1 Stars

The flashlight stopped working after 3 months, probably due to low quality rechargeable batteries that wont recharge any more. Who knows.
Bottom line - chances are that when you'll need it, it wont be working.
Unless you swap them with new ones every couple of months of course..

These lights are dangerous as far as I'm concerned, because they are giving the illusion of safety when it comes to an emergency situation.

I recommend spending a bit more on something more reliable than these.

Customer Review: No longer in the dark
Summary: 5 Stars

I went to all the stores in my area searching for emergency lights like this. I wanted lights that would not only go on if we lose our electricity but I also wanted this style. They light up down the hallway instead of up on the ceiling when the electric goes off. I wanted to replace the ones I had from years ago and these are perfect. After losing our electric during the past Northeast storms, these would have worked perfectly. Not only will they light up the hallway, but I'll be able to use them as flashlights too.

Customer Review: Less than I expected
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this because of price and reviews, but don't think I read the accurate reviews.

Price is good. Product functions as claimed, BUT the light is very dim at its brightest and while it would be better than nothing during a power outage, you might have to light a match to see if it's on!

I haven't tested the battery life on this, but that would be an important factor in an emergency. If I still lived in FL where power outages were frequent, I would be very unhappy with this product.
