This product is nearly perfect. Most combination power failure - night lights sold now use a small red LED as a night light. In fact they now call them "guide lights" because they really don't light up anything in the house to help you move around at night. This one has a neon bulb (so it makes a yellow light - not white) which makes a pretty good night light, even if it's not a white light. And when the power goes out, the light comes on, and then you can unplug it and use it as a flashlight.Customer Review: Simple & affordable

I bought 3 of these. Setting them up is simple, you just have to flip a small switch in the back of the unit from Off (default) to Auto to have the flash light comes on automatically when power is removed/lost, plug the unit into an outlet, and the orange night light will come on. When you need a flash light, just unplug the unit from the power outlet. Very handy, as I don't need to keep a flash light around and worry about changing battery anymore.Customer Review: Emergency power failure light a good buy!

This emergency power failure light was a good buy. It was one of the more inexpensive types but it works well. The only problem is that it doesn't work for long ... maybe 75-minutes or so. I solved that by buying more (I think I have 7 of them now). In a power failure, you can turn some of them off and then use them when the other ones go out. I have small children and they were too fascinated with the candles. This is a MUCH SAFER option!!Customer Review: Short battery life

I did not notice how long the battery lasts after a power failure until I received the item. My parents have Alzheimer's and need coverage for several hours after a power failure. Using LED bulbs would cure that problem. Strength of the light is not so important as the time of coverage. Power companies frequently take half a night to resore power. All the features on this light were very good so I recommend it if time is not so important to you.Customer Review: These Wuk Gud

I bought the first one of these lights over ten years ago and, while the batteries in it a getting a little weaker and it doesn't stay lit as long, it is still working. With our electric company, Florida Flicker and Flash, It's a good idea to have these around. I just bought 4 more for other pats of the house. This is one of the few products that works exactly as advertised. Suggested placement: Kitchen, Stairways, Hallways, Bedrooms.
