I purchased the handheld personal alarm because I have to walk quite a distance to my car, in the dark, after work. The other night, I decided to test the alarm to see how it worked. Some of my co-workers even heard it, from the other side of the parking lot. It is very loud and will startle someone enough that they would problably run away or at the very least, it would buy you time to get away from the attacker.
I now keep the personal alarm on my keychain. It even has a push button light to help you see while using your keys.
Not only is this item good for someone walking alone but I plan to bring it camping to scare off any unwanted furry visitors!
I am going to get one for my daughter, too.
Great Item for adults and kids!
