This timer is very quiet when switching on and off, which can be important if you keep it somewhere you plan to sleep. It's also a breeze to program, and simple to manually switch the device on and off by rotating the wheel. The normal on/off behavior will resume after manually switching the device.
At the price I paid, there's no reason not to buy one for each device you'd like on a timer. The only caveat is that this only operates on two-prong devices. If you want to automatically power on your computer for instance (after telling your BIOS to always auto power on after "power failure,") you'll need to find a three-prong timer.

I like this timer so much that I have bought several more to place in rooms throughout the house. With several timers, it is easy to have your home look occupied while you are away on vacation. In our everyday lives, we set one to come on so we don't come home to a darkened house, and on again in the mornings just as the alarms are going off. Also, my dog likes going out through the garage after our bedtime and again very early in the morning, so another timer lights her way while never forgetting to turn itself off. Before that timer, I cannot tell you how many times we awoke to find the garage light had been left on all night. It keeps adequate time, is very easy to operate, and is reasonably priced.Customer Review: in spite of my prejudice against cheap crap, this is actually pretty great

I rely on it to turn off my slow cooker so my house doesn't burn down. That might be stupid, and I find I'm often filled with anxiety over this. Anyway, it hasn't let me down. You work it by placing plastic "pins" at points around the outer circle that correspond to on and off times. I think there's no way to keep it from turning back on if you're gone too long. But it actually works, and hasn't let me down, once I figured out how to use it. It will surprise you what a piece of cheap plastic crap it is, but it is pretty damn clever.Customer Review: Vendors

I've had great luck with amazon--as long as Amazon is actualy shipping the item from their store!!! Amazon's vendors however leave much to be desired when it comes to custumer fidality. I ordered merchandize from two different suppliers, Denny And Kathy's Superstore and from APEX SUPPLIERS. One of those people sold my name to a spamer. This is the forth day for being inindated with garbage. Amazon should choose the vendors that ship only merchandize and not names and E-mail addesses.

This timer works great, easy to set and allows you to have two different times of the day for it to turn on and off. I have had several timers and when the last one broke down, I ordered two of this product. It is by far the best of those I have had. I have a light already turned on when I enter our bedroom at night and the one in the family room is set for evening and also is on in the morning when I get up to read the paper. The lighted dial also serves as a soft night light. You won't be disappointed in this product.
