i bought a set of these lights to go on the deck of our pool since i didn't want to run eletrical wires that could be dangerous around the pool. After reading the reviews on here i didn't know what to expect. The plastic housing works great for me. No worring about rust since they will be in the weather and exposed to the pool chemicals. After i installed them the first night i was surprised at the light they put out. I had to splice a longer lenght of wire to one of the lights to mount it where i wanted since they only have about 20 feet of wire for each light.The light was bright enoght to give a nice blue white glow to the water so you could swim and a soft light to the lounger on the deck giving it a nice romantic setting. They also don't attract insects like other lights do.Customer Review: Beautiful Moonlight in low ambient light areas!

I have two 4-light sets by Malibu as well. We live in a rural area where the night sky can get pretty dark. These 3-LED lights produce a blueish, moonlight cast and don't contribute any night sky pollution. We have 4 lights spaced about 10' apart and mounted on the outside of a deck railing, facing down so that it shines through the pickets and onto the floor, but also onto the ground around the deck, about 8' below.
We have another 4-light set in the horse barn, situated so that the aisle and stall doors are lit as well as two entrances. Beautiful as accent lighting, but great for finding you way through a dark barn.
I replaced the included batteries with panasonic ni-mh and they last all night.

I ordered two sets of these lights from Amazon and two from another major retailer. The sets were totally different as far as light they put out. The solar collector fronts looked different. One looked sleek, the other like I put it together in my garage. One set put out acceptable light and I was very happy. The second set no where near the light. The inside lamp reflectors didn't even look the same. If this company is going to have such obvious inconsistencies in outsourcing and manufacturing their product, why not let me know - hey Bob, it's hit or miss! Now I have to pack them up, ship them back. A hassle - and a bad name for solar. A waste of my time overall and takes the mystery out of the good and bad reviews here.Customer Review: love these lights, amazon has lowest price, too!

I just ordered 3 sets of these, to add to the two i bought from Lowes last week. I paid 44. per set (free shipping to store) at Lowes, and only $29. with SS shipping, here. These lights are nice and bright, casting nice light on 10-12' talls trees, longer beam than i expected. These are not just for bushes, they work on smaller trees and if you shine them downwards you have a very bright light on whatever you aim them at. Nice long cables allow you to place panel in sunlight and hide light elements in the shrubbery, in the shade. You can stab them in the ground again and again and the plastic point does not bend. I am happy with these for 44.00, thrilled with them for only 29.00. Go, A-zon!Customer Review: Not worth it

I read the reviews and even though my expectations were not very high, I purchased a set. Not even my already low expectations were met. As somebody mentioned, flashlights are more powerful than these lights. They are white LED's, so the light is rather ghostly: blueish and very dimmed. Don't buy them unless you are looking for a rather undefined glow in a very limited spot. Another piece of advice: make sure you have a spot for the solar charger that remains exposed to the sun for most of the day. Otherwise, these lights are a one-night show. More powerful batteries will not help. On a positive note, I was well impressed by the construction: rather sturdy and good quality plastic.
