I used this product to hold down area rugs in my living room, one being as you come into the door onto our new carpet. It has been down for about 4 months and rugs are all still in place, even after my three yr old has picked at the edges and spilled things on it, my 9 month old has put a thousand miles crawling over it, and foot traffic has been severe. Great!
Description of Intertape 9970 Indoor Carpet Tape 2-Inches x 36-Yards
A double faced adhesive tape for keeping rugs, mats, carpeting in position. Handy for hanging posters, mounting photographs, repairing books, holding sandpaper to sanding block, plus 101 other uses for holding two surfaces together. Adheres to concrete, w ool, paper, plastic, tile, fabric, foam, linoleum, etc. Strong adhesive, easily removed from heavy release liner. Vinyl tape will not rot.
