I purchased this trunk/box after moving out on my own. In college I had one of those plywood fake locker/trunks and missed having something to store all my extra stuff in. More specifically I was looking for something to hold all my rockband/guitar hero guitars and more importantly the drums. Everything fit in the box perfectly except for the base of the drums which is fine since that's kept in a closet out of sight. Now I don't have the clutter and get a nice little surface/ottoman. There are actually four cutouts as cupholders in the four corners of the box.
As far as quality of construction that would be the reason that the box lost a star. Although the plastic is durable I'm still a bit paranoid of warping it or bending it out of shape by putting too many things on top of it since the plastic is still wobly when you open the lid.

Normally when in the US I buy wooden Seward trunks from KMart or Walmart but I only managed to find one wooden trunk this trip so had to order this moulded plastic trunk through Amazon in order to take all my holiday purchases home. Although on the whole the trunk is fairly rugged my main gripe is with the flimsy nature of the plastic where the handle connects to the case. Without a suitable padlock to clamp the upper and lower parts of the trunk together, when loaded with 20+kgs the case distorts and gapes open about 1 inch. Left me feeling concerned that at the end of a 10 hour flight my case would arrive broken and battered at the other end due to those delicate baggage handlers. Fortunately it arrived ok but I would not purchase this item again for travel. Its perfectly fine for loft storage though which is what this is now relegated to.Customer Review: Don't bother, look elsewhere

I received this box tonight and was disappointed. The plastic is warped so that I cannot close the trunk top properly. Also, when I finally did get the damn thing to line up properly and clasp, I found the clasps to be loose to the point where they will fall off. The clasps are not tight at all. Perhaps this is just the one I received.
For the most part, this box will do what I need it to do for now however, I will be looking around for a better one.
All in all, look for something in steel if you're serious about storing AND toting around anything of value. I use mine for photography lighting and backdrop equipment. I would store my tools in there but not until I find something for all of the other stuff.

dont get me wrong now....... this foot locker is amazing theres only one other foot locker i have that is better than this..( which is what im looking to buy more of now when i came across this)... i own about 20 of these im deployed in iraq right now and cant live without all my music equiptment and it does a good job protecting from dirt/dust and transporting between fobs in the connexs
but i also buy them for about $18 same exact thing
i couldnt imagine spending $45+ for this
im not saying dont buy it im just saying search around a lil and im sure youll catch it better then $45

I purchased two of these trunks to take with me on a deployment to Afghanistan. Both of them were broken in multiple places. I noticed that the box had minimal protectant around the trunks. So it was just cardboard around 90 percent of the trunks. I would have sent them back and purchased something else but I did not have enough time to send them back order something else. The quality of the plastic seemed to add to reason of them breaking. This is not by any means a heavy duty trunk. I was worried about the trunks crushing on the trip over and all of my personal stuff splilling out. I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THESE TRUNKS TO ANYONE.
