Customer Review: Great Dust Collector!

Let me start by saying I don't make purchases like this without doing a lot of research to make sure it will be money well spent for my business. This is a pricey dust collector, but in my opinion you get what you pay for. I had been looking for a dust collector for our new building and I did look at many units. The JDS Company was unknown to me until I started looking around and saw this design. I really wanted a cyclone unit but did not want to loose a lot of space for it and I really wanted power and portability. This this unit did not disappoint me! It is very well built, surprisingly quiet and has very powerful suction. The size of the unit when compared to others and it's mobility are wonderful. It can be placed where you need it and if needed moved easy to some place else if needed. This unit is connected to a table saw, router table, planer and a compound slide saw. It has power to spare. It's magnetic starter works and is built very well, it slowly starts the 2hp blower motor which is a fined heavy duty motor that remains cool when running.
There is a small motor connected to paddles inside the filter that starts when the blower shuts down and runs for about a min. It does a great job cleaning the inside the filter so you don't have to. It may seem like a gimmick but it works great. One note, I wish you could adjust the cleaning time as it seems a bit long and I do not know what if any wear it does to the filter so will just have to wait to find out. The filter looks very well made so I do think from appearance that it will last. The dust that gets to this part is like supper fine powder which drops down into the clear bag. The bags are very heavy and a tight fit that meant installing them was a 2 person job to pull them on properly. I bought 2 extra cases of bags as i did not know how long they would last or how long to full. But given what I have done so far this supply will last quite a while.
So if looking for one of the best dust collectors on the market, look no further!
