Tools and Hardware Reviews of Mosquito Dunks 117-6 32-Ounce Mosquito Bits

Customer Review: Mosquito Bits
Summary: 5 Stars

Very versatile, effective product for the elimination of mosquito larvae. I purchased a case of Mosquito Bits directly from Summit in 2002, and 8 years later the granules of the last container are still effective (I know since I deliberately use my rain barrel as a trap)! I have found that they can be easily broadcast into areas that mosquito "dunks" (the company also makes) are too large for. Strongly recommended.

Customer Review: Works great when mosquito dunks are inconvenient
Summary: 5 Stars

Swampy and perpetually muddy areas abound around us and this product worked very well to broadcast over the mud and still water when the dunks were too compacted to help. It rains frequently and when it does, these muddy areas get about an inch of water and are perfect for mosquitos breeding. I started early this past spring and was very pleased with the lower mosquito count this summer.

Customer Review: Appears to work
Summary: 4 Stars

Had this product for 2 weeks. No larvae in the pond yet. Lots of algae, though. Seems to do the trick. I'm never certain if I've put enough in, but my water garden is small so I spread it light. Space-age stuff, but the warnings on the side are a bit creepy. Bacterial warfare against the skeeters is justified? I think so!

Customer Review: quest to enjoy the backyard
Summary: 3 Stars

I used this in the wet areas of our lawn a couple times now. It's hard to give an definitive "yeah" or "nay" on this, but I hope it's helping with the mosquitoes. They're still out there biting us, but we're right near some woods so it'll probably always be a problem. So far, it seems better than past years.

Customer Review: Hate mosquitoes.
Summary: 5 Stars

I've used these for years in water gardens around my yard and they work very well and do not hurt the birds or any other animal as far as I can tell. If you look into a water feature and see something wriggling that look like small shrimp, you need these as those are mosquito larva.
