My Jiffy J-4000 arrived today and I immediately began testing the steamer.
My first problem is with the height of the pole, too short for my bad back.
The next thing to happen is the hose touched my leg leaving a red hot area.
The handle also gets very hot and after steaming five t-shirts, it was too hot to continue. It is definitely a big sturdy steamer. It is difficult to lift and empty the water tank. I will be sending it back and ordering a smaller model with insulation on the hose. You would not want to use this steamer around a small child.

After alot of research, and almost buying a different, less expensive steamer, I went ahead and spent the extra money and bought the Jiffy J-4000...I couldn't be happier..I have a home-based clothing business, and I have to steam hundreds of garments, and this steamer keeps up with it all...Its quick, puts out alot of steam, and one water tank fill does last quite a long time..Its very easy to use, and it doesn't take up that much space...If you need a professional type steamer, spend the extra money and buy this one...You will love this steamerCustomer Review: Great steamer

I love this steamer. I use it to remove wrinkles, and to refresh dry clean only items, such as wool, silk, etc. I steamed all jackets and ties with it, and they all looked like new afterward.
Update: It's just another gadget - I use it infrequently, mostly to prove my husband wrong. Frankly it's probably easier to pull out the iron, it heats up faster and the results are much better.
Update: My husband started using it on a daily basis. He has bought some no-iron shirts and uses the steamer now instead of the iron.

My wife has brought two of these steamers home for me to fix. The problem is the plastic, water level indicator. It cracks. I'm surprised no one has brought this issue up. I used silicon on the first one, but its leaking again. The store owner contacted Jiffy and they sent her a new one, free. After about 6 months, this one also cracked, with water leaking out of it. This one is completely unfixable, with about 12 separate cracks in the little reservoir. They need to work on this issue, in my opinion.Customer Review: works well

I use the Jiffy steamer j-4000 for clothing in my store. The clothes are all organic cotton, bamboo, hemp and hemp-silk blends. It works great for everything except the hemp and silk blends. For some reason, silk seems to be resistant to anything except an iron for getting the wrinkles out. If you're using this product for anthing but silk - go for it.... it's great. Just be careful, as it gets hot enough to cause burns if you don't move your hands quickly in tight places like pants legs.
