Customer Review: Not too impressed.
Summary: 3 Stars
This isn't a bad product, and considering the price, I guess I'm not really too surprised. I purchased it for my back sliding patio door. I have dogs and I like to keep the back door open so they can go in and out of the fenced backyard as they please. One of my dogs is rather large and has made short work of every sliding door screen I've purchased, by going right through it. This is far better. Although, because of its shortcomings it has failed to screen out flies as effectively as I'd hoped.
Dislikes: 1)There are only three velcro strips to hold up the screen, although this doesn't really matter because the glue refused to hold for longer than an hour or two at a time. I finally nailed the darn thing up. That held it, but now it has to hang slightly higher than the floor, which leaves a small gap. 2) The magnets are only in the middle. the magnet idea works well, but because there are no magnets at the bottom of the screen, that section often tends to gap open.
Likes: 1) The sand inserted in the bottom seams really helps the screen to remain flat and not flap open or up as much. 2) The little velcro tabs on the sides of the screen to keep the sides secure are a nice idea. I was unable to use them because I'm using the screen on a sliding patio door, but I can see how they'd be useful with a regular door. 3) The middle split feature is great. I purchased a hanging screen door elsewhere a couple of years ago without the middle split, and I like this design much better.
The product shipped promptly. Overall, the purchase was decent. I'm not thrilled, but I certainly don't feel as if I overpaid. The quality more or less suited the price. Next summer I'll probably invest more and purchase the Bug Off version.
