This key hider is chintzy and poorly constructed. I should have returned it immediately, but because it is such a pain to return items, I decided to use it anyway. I mounted the holder to my deck. I used it ONCE. The lid wouldn't slide up. After spending almost a minute manipulating the lid to slide up the base track, the thermometer dropped out of the lid. I assure you, I did not force it. Because it is such a poor-quality construction, I treated it very gently. Save your money and keep looking for something else. I just wasted $15 (w/shipping) for this cheaply made piece of plastic. VERY VERY disappointed.
