Tools and Hardware Reviews of Joby Gorillatorch Adjustable and Flexible Tripod Flashlight, GrayCustomer Review: Delighted Summary: 5 Stars
The Gorillatorch is as flexible as the Gorillapod mini tripod,Joby GP1-D1EN Gorillapod Flexible Tripod (Grey), and can be used in many places for handsfree lighting. It also has strong magnets in the feet, so can stand on vertical metal surfaces when there is no place to entwine it. Should be very handy during our next power outage and for my husband's do it yourself projects around the house.
Customer Review: Surprisingly Bright! Summary: 5 Stars
The legs are super adjustable, which make it perfect for so many things. There are magnets in the feet of the legs, making it easy for working on cars - they seem pretty strong too, I haven't had it fall off of anything yet due to poor magnet strength. I was surprised at how bright this thing actually is... I don't recommend looking into the light, it hurts. Badly.
Honestly, I didn't see a flaw with this at all, I'd buy again and again if I ever needed more than one.
Customer Review: Would be fine if the battery compartment cap would stay on Summary: 2 Stars
The lights are bright, the legs bend easily (and then stay put, rather than collapsing) - so all would be fine if the battery compartment would just stay closed. The cap that closes it screws on, barely, but not tightly enough to actually press the battery connections tightly enough so the light doesn't work without a hand pressing the cap closed. Judging from the other reviews here, this isn't a total fluke or rare problem - I just wish the one I bought didn't have that defect!
Customer Review: Very handy flashlight Summary: 5 Stars
I have used this for camping, reading, and electrical work. I am amazed by how strong the magnets are and they attach easily to metal. It's not large so you can carry it like a regular flashlight and use it in tight spaces. Also, the bulb is a Cree which is more expensive than a LED. You can dim the light by turning the knob instead of having to click to pre-set light levels. I highly recommend this as a gift if you don't know what to give.
Customer Review: Thanks to whoever suggested the diffuser Summary: 5 Stars
After reading the reviews about the bright spot in the middle I was hesitant to buy this. However, one person (somewhere in these reviews...) suggested using Press 'n Seal film over the lens as a diffuser and it works perfectly! Now I have the advantage of a bright focused beam when I want and a more even light the rest of the time. The magnets on the feet are strong, the legs are bendable- this is a very handy tool!
