Customer Review: Works as described, easy to install, good construction

I have had no problems with this product unlike some of the people who have written reviews. I suspect they may not have completely read the instructions or tightened the bolts properly. I have had no trouble at all with the the seat wiggling while sitting on it or raising or lowering it. And, the instructions explain the black tabs and how they can be flipped around to adjust the position of the seat forward or backwards depending on the shape/size of your bowl.
It is more solidly constructed than the cheap plastic seat that came with the Kohler toilet that this seat is replacing. The slow action downwards works fine and can easily be "accelerated" by using your hand if you need to. The only quirk I have found so far is that if you raise the seat too fast, there can be a bit of a resistance for the first 1/4 of the travel or so as the mechanism resets. If you're not careful and hold it very loosely, it can pop out of your hand and smack back down.

I bought this product at Home Depot for $50.00 and it will be returned tomorrow. The quick release is an absolutely terrible idea and I don't know who thought of it. It compromises the rigidity of the toilet seat and I found that it wobbled and shifted too much. If you need to take off the toilet seat just unscrew it from underneath! Pick up a tool! I hate it when manufacturers treat you like idiots. They wind up making an inferior product. When you tighten down on this product the cheap plastic holders spread apart and don't grip well. This is a result of that quick release feature. Yes the cover is supposed to snap down and keep it all together but I found that I couldn't tight it tight enough to keep it from shifting on the toilet.Customer Review: Don't buy this CRAPPY toilet seat!!

I thought this was the best thing since perforated toilet paper, like many other reviewers, but after a few weeks of use the seat starts to get very loose and the cheap thin plastic "hinge holder" eventually breaks. I called their customer service who promptly sent a new seat(without even verifying any info, which tells me this is a very common problem) When it arrived the snap cover for the "hinge holder" was already broken in the box!! I haven't had time to deal with it since and have been wobbling around every time I use it, I'm going now to buy something I can BOLT DOWN.Customer Review: Jewish American Princess gets great Throne

Although I couldn't follow the diagram installation instructions because diagrams make no sense to me and there were no text instructions, it was simple installation because I just followed the way the old toilet seat was installed when I took it off. There are not many parts to confuse. The seat and top are quiet-close. They both float down and do not slam. The quality looks excellent and we'll see if it lasts. Guess my life in The Big Apple is not too exciting if I can get so excited about a toilet seat (and show it to neighbors :)) LOLCustomer Review: great toilet lid

This is the second time we have purchased this product and have been through enough toilet seats in our day to be picky about the product. This one is easy to install, has presented no problems after a year of use, and is particularly nice to use with the slow closing design. No more banging toilet lids and the easy flick to send it closed makes for pleasant use. Plus the sealed pads underneath and smooth design make for easy cleaning.
