It's impossible to know the quality of the product as it is a single use item. I didn't realize this when I purchased two for my home. They are here now, and as with all emergency equipment, we hope to never have to test them, but it certainly would be nice to do a test run.

The Kidde 25-foot escape ladder provides a way to escape fires or other emergencies and offers your family an essential piece of safety equipment if you live in a two- or three-story home. The National Fire Protection Association recommends one ladder in every occupied room on floors above the main level. This durable ladder stores conveniently under the bed or near a window and deploys quickly and easily. It will support a maximum weight of 1,000 pounds when the load is distributed on more than one rung, while the maximum weight for each rung is 750 pounds.
