Tools and Hardware Reviews of Kidde KN-COEG-3 Nighthawk Plug-In Carbon Monoxide and Explosive Gas Alarm with Battery BackupCustomer Review: I had this unit for 10 years, changed it and this is not working Summary: 1 Stars
I don't know if it is because of all the complaints about false alarms reported, but this unit would not work even if i put it on top the stove and turned the gas without fire on.
I sprayed in front of it and it is not doing anything.

Customer Review: Very sensitive to ANY explosive gas Summary: 3 Stars
I agree with all the "false alarm" folks. Ours goes off at least once/week for no apparent reason (doesn't like the toaster oven?). However, the most "random" alarm occurred when my husband passed gas near the alarm. . . went off within seconds!!! He was very proud : )
Customer Review: Absolute crap! Summary: 1 Stars
More false alarms please! I bought this a couple years ago, it was replaced once after the fire department arrived at my house because of a false alarm. Now, false alarms are nearly a weekly occurrence. Absolutely the worst device I currently own! Buy something else!
Customer Review: Great Relieable Product Summary: 5 Stars
Product was recommended by a service technician. I was able to find it through Amazon's site at a tremendously reasonable cost along with free shipping. The product certainly provides for a safer environment and is well worth the money spent.
Customer Review: Just Plug it in. Summary: 4 Stars
This replaced a similar 8-year old alarm which failed well after its initial 5-year lifetime. We haven't had any problems or reason to expect and gas or monoxide problems. Just pluged it in and walked away after the inital self test.
