This detector is easy to set up and use. Lets you clearly know when the battery is getting low, although the signal might be a little too loud for some. Warranteed for 5 years, and normally lasts that long, but not that much longer (i.e., not 10 years, but probably 7), before it needs to be replaced. I use one for every level in my home...it's worth it, believe me. CO can overtake you without your even knowing it, so it's a necessary item for every home.Customer Review: False Alarms, but great warranty & hassle free Customer Service

I JUST barely sent an email to this company about the bad battery life and false alarms I was getting with this particular device. SINCE it was still under it's 5 year warranty they are sending me a new device in 7-10 days...hardly any questions asked. So, as far as customer service is concerned I'd give it 5 stars, the device itself, still unsure about. I have yet to really know if this device WORKS properly as I have only been using it a few months.Customer Review: BAD SHAPE

THIS ITEM CAME IN WITH AN EXPIRED BATTERY . IT WORKED FOR ONE WEEK AND STARTED BEEPING LOW BATTERY. I CONTACTED AMAZON TWICE AND NEVER RECEIVED A REPLY. I THINK THAT THIS ITEM, CO DETECTOR, WHICH WORKS ON BATTERY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DELIVERED WITH A BATTERY THAT WORKED FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR NOT ONE WEEK . I HAD PURCHASED THIS ITEM BEFOR FROM A STORE AND HAD NO COMPLAINTS. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMEND THAT THIS CO DETECTOR NOT BE PURCHASED FROM AMAZON.Customer Review: Tossed it in the garbage at 2:45am

I will not buy Kidde again.
I bought one of these and it false alarmed many times. I got a replacement from Kidde, and it does the same. I moved all around the house trying to find where it would work OK. I finally got fed up at 2:45am last night and threw it away. It was saying gas, there was no gas. I have another older AC powered CO detector and it has gone off only once in many years and that seemed to be from highway pollution.

I purchased 5 of these CO detectors. I expect them to work fine. But, they were packaged in a flimsy cardboard box with very little protection. The box was partially open and the detectors could have easily fallen out. I hope they will all work properly. The packaging was very uncharacteristic for Amazon. A paperback book is packaged in a bullet proof box, but delicate equipment was basically just thrown in a weak box.
