Tools and Hardware Reviews of Kidde KN-COPP-3 Nighthawk Plug-In Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Battery Backup and Digital DisplayCustomer Review: Beeps when power out and on battery backup Summary: 1 Stars
I can't say whether it's good at sensing CO, but this thing beeps when it is using backup battery (even with a fresh battery). Power goes out? This will beep all night. After the third power outage and removing the battery a few Summers ago, we just never plugged it back in. Also, it's big and heavy and requires a tight wall outlet to keep it from falling out and on the floor.
Customer Review: Does it work? Summary: 4 Stars
I've owned this for a few months now, but I haven't seen it beep or go off once. I didn't intentionally try to put it near a source of CO2, but the device seems awfully quiet--which is a good thing. It's easy to install. Just pop in the included backup battery and plug it in to an outlet. It seems over-priced 'tho and cheaper models should probably accomplish the same thing.
Customer Review: totally unhappy Summary: 1 Stars
I bought a Kidde KN-COPP-3 Nighthawk Plug-In Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Battery Backup and Digital Display. In less than a month we had to change the battery twice. Both times the alarm woke us up during the night ruining our sleep. We first thought it detected a CO leak, but then we noticed that the alarm showed the "lb" message: low battery. I just disconnected it.
Customer Review: Carbon Monoxide Plug In Alarm Kidde KN-COPP-3 Summary: 5 Stars
A good quality product, it was purchased as a replacement for a old Kidde plug in which had stopped working after a few years. The main advantage of this newer model unit is the battery backup feature which my older unit did not have. Digital readout and flawless performance make this my choice for a reliable plug in carbon monoxide alarm unit.
Customer Review: Even if it were free, it would be overpriced Summary: 1 Stars
Worthless.. After just 1.5 years displays "ERR" Customer service says it has to be replaced?!? but they won't replace it w.o. receipt despite the date of manufacture of April 2006 on the back.
This is my second Nighthawk product... my first and my last.
Wondering if I was ever protected?? Did it ever work?
