Product performs as expected, loud and accurate. The digital read-out is "key" telling you if there is even a minor amount of CO in the room. No false alarms yet like the complaints with other models. One fall back, I wished they offered this exact model but with an AC power adaptor. That is what I was truly seeking but I have NO REGRETS, I feel confident and safe and would recommend this exact model to anyone and everyone. Because of new building codes and re-selling codes for homes in Phoenix, a carbon monoxide detector is mandatory. After reading several reviews, I decided to purchase the Kidde battery-operated model. It has one of the highest ratings available. It was not only inexpensive, but very easy to set up. I never worried about carbon monoxide because I never knew the risk. Now I sleep at night without any worries! What peace of mind I have. this product works well and easy to use. Mine just went dead after 7years of use...an error message appears and will not reset according to manual. so it lets you know when it is time to replace unit. does not eat up batteries. I have a coal stoker and was malfunctioning when i first installed it. this detector worked great to let me know how many ppm of carbon monoxide was in the basement, it was a high level...highly recommend having one in your house.Customer Review: May be cheaper at Home Depot...

Great product. It has a "kickstand" so it can be placed on a table or screws so it can be hung on the wall. The digital display is recommended for CO testers. You can change batteries without removing the tester from the wall. A leading consumer testing magazine recommended this one.
I often buy from Amazon because it is easy and usually cheaper. However, I found this item at The Home Depot (reg. 39.99) on clearance for 19.99.

The concept is great and so is the price. I bought two of these at the same time. It turns out that about 2 am one of them decided to malfunction with loud blasts of "FIRE FIRE FIRE" warnings and "Carbon Monoxide". The good thing is I can say it will wake you up in an emergency but one just had a problem the other is fine. I am now working on getting the company to replace it and they seem to be very helpful in doing so.
