I bought this to hang on my wall to replace a detector that woke us up more than once with a false alarm. I am happy to report that this detector has not gone off unexpectedly.
To sum it up, the detector is still hanging on the wall and we are all still alive, so it must be functioning well. I would recommend this to anyone.

The only reason I gave this 4 and not 5 stars is that the alarm has not been given the ultimate test, and I hope it never will. Other reviews of this product, especially one where the alarm did perform in a real-life situation, persuaded me to buy. This alarm works great, but it goes through batteries like crazy -- and somehow it always seems to happen in the middle of the night when you're trying to sleep. But really, if it's convenient for you to reach then changing the batteries often will be no problem. Otherwise, look for something that has a longer battery life.Customer Review: Great Buy!
