Tools and Hardware Reviews of Kidde PI9000 Battery-Operated Dual Ionization and Photoelectric Sensor Smoke AlarmCustomer Review: Manufactured in China Summary: 1 StarsI purchased three Kidde PI9000 smoke alarms and one failed straight out of the box. I put the battery in and attempted to test the alarm. The test failed. I took the battery out and noticed it was hot and could smell that the alarm was "cooked." I am sure it is a fine smoke alarm, but am posting this to give folks an idea of the failure rates.
Customer Review: The Best Of Both Worlds! Summary: 5 StarsThey have finally done it! By combining the two different types of fire detection technology, they have created the ultimate smoke detector. Plus, by including a "Hush Button" to quickly silence nuisance alarms, it eliminates the current practice of removing the battery to make the detector stop making that awful noise. With the inclusion of a battery and mounting screws, it allows for easy and fast mounting with a detector that is completely ready to go. And, the price is so reasonable that everyone who currently has a battery operated detector(s) should be looking into replacing the one they have with this one!
Customer Review: How does one review a smoke alarm ? Summary: 3 StarsIt certainly LOOKS like a good smoke alarm, but I guess I won't know for sure until I have a fire !
Customer Review: Kidde PI9000 Summary: 5 StarsHopefully we'll never be in a situation where we need to know that they work! But they are easy to install. And they arrived earlier than expected. Excellent service!
Customer Review: So far so good Summary: 5 StarsGood so far, no false alarms when something in the over burns. And it worked good when the wife closed the fireplace damper and let too much smoke in.
