Customer Review: Just what I was looking for

I have a house built in the 50's with a door knob that is much further from the edge of the door than any other door I have seen. The knob finally wore out to the point that we couldn't open it. I checked all over and could not find anyone who knew what I was looking for. A check of Amazon turned this up at a great price. There was a little mixup with the order, but it was resolved immediately. Great service! It fit great and was easy to install with a brand new door knob. I took off one star because it does not seem to be quite as well made as the original one or those that I have installed on other doors. This was the only 5" latch I found and fortunately, it was just right.

Polished Brass, Entry Deadlatch, 5" Backset With Rectangular Face, Clear Pack.Replace the latch on that Kwikset deadbolt with this 5-inch dead-latch for continued security. Used with entry function knobs and levers where a 5-inch backset is present, as with many older homes, this replacement part fits all 5-inch Kwikset deadbolt mechanisms with square-cornered mortising. The latch is finished to match Kwikset polished brass knobs and levers. Easy to install, the purchase is backed by 10-year mechanical and 5-year finish warranties. --Brian D. Olson
