I purchased 3 sets of kwikset smartkey locks. I wanted to be able to give friends/family a key to my home. Some times you need to take those keys back, cough cough. Instead of paying a locksmith for new locks you just rekey all locks or just the one lock on your house using the master key while it is still in the door.
Customer support was great. I lost (dropped) the set screw that holds the lever handle on and could not find it. I wrote to Kwikset to give me the set screw size so I could replace it from a hardware store. I lost it not them so I was willing to buy another one. Two days later they had mailed me a new set screw, no charge. I was very happy when I opened my mail and it was there since I never asked for them to do this. I purchased two of the three sets from amazon. First lock set I paid $10 more for from a local hardware store.

Simple Installation and Re-Keying

You can re-key your lock in three easy steps: Insert the functioning key and turn it 1/4 turn clockwise; insert and remove the SmartKey learn tool and remove the functioning key; insert the new key and turn it 1/2 turn counter clockwise.
