Tools and Hardware Reviews of Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Gear Kit - Part #41A2817Customer Review: Everything included. Summary: 5 Stars
This is a complete solution to worn out drive gear in garage door opener. Although it is not an easy project, it is certainly possible to complete the replacement of the worn drive gear in about 2 hours with common tools. All of the necessary parts are included and the directions are reasonably straight forward. What a great feeling when the door went up and down again! Big cost savings, too.
Customer Review: LiftMaster Gear Kit - Do It Yourself Summary: 5 Stars
I installed this product while drinking a twelve pack of beer and did it in two hours. Outstanding replacement gear!
I can't wait for it to break again in about eight years to I can fix it again without paying someone a stupid amount of money or replacing the entire garage motor.
All I can say is, "Wow!" Had no idea that this problem was such an easy fix. Thank you!!
Customer Review: Garage door rebuilding kit Summary: 5 Stars
Great vendor, Kit arrived 3 days before the earilest delivery estimate. Instructions are good. I rebuilt two 13 year old garage door openers in less than 2 hours. One opener failed when the teeth wore out on the large gear and the other opener wasn't far behind. So $34 and 2 hours of my time saved me $350 and about 8 hours of time that it would have taken to replace both openers with new ones!
Customer Review: Expectations Met and Exceeded Summary: 5 Stars
Take it from a soon to be retired mechanical engineer with many years of home repair experience - this is a high quality, exact replacement kit at about half the price of what you would pay for it through Sears. The instructions are clear and the installation is straight forward. The most difficult part of the installation is driving out the roll pin to remove the large worn gear.
Customer Review: Fixed! Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered the Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Kit to fix my 14 year old Craftsman opener from ASPDoors and a Whole Lot More. The project took about an hour partially due to the clarity of the enclosed instructions. Now it works as good as new. I was going to just replace the opener, but I am glad that I decided to fix it instead. This saved me about $150 dollars!
