Item was just as described and was shipped in a timely matter. I bought this part with hopes of replacing a $26 gear wheel rather than spend $150 on a new garage door opener. Item was as expected but the instructions were difficult to follow. Taking apart the garage door opener to replace this gear was not as easy as people make it out to be. Overall I did not end up replacing the part. If you are handy then I would definitely recommend this product.Customer Review: Takes some effort, but it works well.

The kit did what I bought it for. Now, a lot of the reviews mention some assembly required, they are quite right. I used a hole punch, Phillips screw driver, pliers, hammer, two by four, and my concrete basement floor. Using a combination of these (wood and floor for a ghetto anvil)I managed to get the pins removed and replaced. To sum it up, you'll need some mechanical aptitude and a little ingenuity but you can get it done in under three hours.

I thought for $30.00 I would give it a try. I followed the instructions and took my time. I didn't need to replace the screw gear so I did not have to drop the motor. Taking my time, installation took about 1.5 hours and I am not that handy. If I had to drop the motor, it would have taken another hour or so.
The replacement parts showed up next day...very impresive. I would do it again if my other garage door opener needs it.

you know how it is, your garage door opener blows out the lift gear with no advance notice. last time i ordered from the manufacturer, Chamberlain, off their website. took two weeks.
this time i ordered here. the parts are identical, in the exact same box with identical part numbers/bar code and same instructions for less money. also, the parts came in three days which is the most important thing when it's your wife's garage door.

I was going to buy a new door opener but decided to check out repairs first. I found repair kit and comments on owner repair online. This is a simple and easy project anyone can do. Opener works better than ever, good instructions in the kit, fair price and quick delivery make this a great deal. Thank you Amazon and ASPdoors. I took digital camera pics before dis assembly to insure everything was reassembled properly.
