Customer Review: Weather Spotter Tool

As a trained advanced weather spotter, it was recommended that I get an anemometer. This unit is easy to use but I haven't had to use it to measure severe weather conditions. I'm not crazy about button cell batteries, but that is he trade-off to keep the unit small and light. Fortunately, it does use a common CR2032 3V battery.Customer Review: pretty great, and a great gift.

I'm not sure how accurate this wind guage is, but since I work on a touring boat this is really nice to have a neck strap to hang from my neck for a fast read. Along with all the info it gives for wind speed and wind chill. Several people have seen mine and think they would make great gifts for those weather enthusiasts.Customer Review: Great Windmeter

Bought this for my sailboat and it works really well, unfortunately the one i got had a dead battery in it and wasnt easy to find a replacement.
However it works great, has an adjustable lanyard so you can wear it without losing it. Very light and compact, fits in a shirt pocket.

I received the product with a 16 year old battery, after replacing the battery the unit still didn't work. I had to send it back to the factory for a replacement, all of whick took an additional three weeks from the time I received the first anemometer. I was looking around for a hand-held anemometer for determining wind speed for flying remote control aircraft. I looked at several sites and products and they were all upwards of $100. I found this unit on Amazon for a very good price and we have been happy with it so far.
