These things are wonderful. They don't complain or tell you how to do it better. Don't take cigarette breaks, always on time,take up little space,hold the drywall in place as long as you want. Tried a much cheaper copy from Harbor Freight and they slipped when tightened(OK to hold plastic dust barrier, that's about all).
Get at least two of these you won't regret it.

I can't tell you how many times I could have used the 3rd hand over the past 20 years...wish it had come out sooner! I have used mine mostly to keep stuff from shifting in the back of my truck and for making dust barriers. When I bought mine the contractor pack wasn't available yet, it looks like the way to go. This is a great tool. I am a maintenance guy and I use them for all sorts of things. I looked at the Rockler version, but it doesn't go as high...it only goes to 10' and 3rd hand goes to 12'. Also, the feet pivot all the way around on the 3rd hand and the Rockler one only pivots one way. I prefer the 3rd hand and it seems heavier duty too.Customer Review: Maximize your profits

Fire that lame helper that you have been paying to stand around until you need him to hold something up for you while you tack it, tape it, screw it or nail it. The third hand has eliminated the need for me to have some moron around when installing cabinets, crown moulding or masking off a room with a dust shield. I just received my 3rdhand contractor pack that I had ordered on 05/17/04. It arrived on 07/17/04.after I cancelled my order through Amazon.com and reordered directly from TOOL CRIB using there 800-635-5140 number it only took 4 days to receive the order. I suggest that if you want a tool from Amazon.com, you order it direct from Tool Crib.
