Customer Review: FastCap Jack of All Trades - Don't Squeeze Too Hard

Well, it seemed like a good idea, serving both as a cabinet and flooring installation tool. As a helping hand for lifting cabinets slightly off of the floor, it worked great. However, when used for compressing tongue and groove flooring by wedging between wall and floorboards, it did not have enough strength to do the job - as a matter of fact, as I was squeezing the grip to increase pressure, the grip actually broke off in my hand. Kind of a scary way to let you know that you have exceeded its capacity. Also, one of the plastic feet broke fairly easily when I dropped the jack.
Bottom line, I think the materials used should be more durable and resilient. I have not yet contacted the seller to see if they will warrany this or not.
NEW: I contacted FastCap and told them what happened. They apologized and sent me a new jack within a few days - no questions asked, no return of old jack required. Excellent customer service the way it should be! 5 Stars for service!

The Jack is a versatile tool designed as a method for lifting base cabinets in order to install shims or adjust leg levelers. It can also be used as a spreader, a heavy-duty clamp, a lift for installing or adjusting heavy entry doors, or you can use it horizontally to pull together hardwood or laminate flooring. The Jack can lift cabinets as high as 15-3/4 inches, with a load capacity of 100 pounds. The maximum clamp width is 13-3/4 inches with a maximum clamp depth of 2-1/4 inches.
