After extensive research, I found this model to best suit what I was looking for in a tower fan. Quiet & efficient operation, adequate strength with option to bring the level down to a comfortable breeze (though the product description by Amazon that lists 4 modes isn't accurate. There is no "breeze" mode apart from the 3 modes of low, med, and high), attractive design, and good price. This fan meets all the expectations while being equipped with some common but very useful features like remote and automatic timer shutoff. I found it to be pretty neat how it gives short beeps to confirm each button press. What sets this apart from the other tower fans is the adjustable height feature. At its max height which stands about 10" above most of the other tower fans, it's just the right height for the air to reach a person's head when sitting down. I also like the fact that the pedestal design makes for a more compact main unit than that of the standard tower fan design.
Given the above, I'm surprised this model isn't nearly as popular as the other models (probably because this model doesn't show up when searching for "tower" fans, I'm guessing).
As for the condition of the box (and to a degree, its content) it arrived in, I'll calmly give 0 star. Without any exaggeration, I would say it was absolutely atrocious to describe how ragged, torn, and clumsily taped up the box came in. I nearly decided to send it right back without even bothering to open it. Upon further inspection, I wasn't surprised that the main unit itself had minor blemishes on several spots. I'm still not entirely sure I won't return this as it might as well be a used/refurbished item considering how it was sent.
Also of concern is a particular plastic odor that has yet to subside after several hours of operation in 3 days.
