Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lasko 1820 Performance 18-Inch Adjustable Oscillating Pedestal FanCustomer Review: Great Buy!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Lasko fan are certainly the best. Made in the US, this fan is certainly worth its price. The air flow even on the lowest speed is amazing, and it does have that common tacky, ghetto, or tenement look of other fans. Moreover is extremely simple to operate and assemble. My last parents owned a Lasko fan that lasted well over 25years, and donated it not because it wasn't working, but because they wanted something more modern. Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Lasko fan Summary: 4 Stars
Overall I have had good luck with this brand. The oscillating mechanism is a little on the weak side. Lasko 1820 Performance 18-Inch Adjustable Oscillating Pedestal Fan. The 3 speed control is not to my liking. There is not enough difference between each of the speed settings. The fan did hold up for 5-6 years using it at least 4 days a week.
Customer Review: OK fan when it works, too noisey and flimsy Summary: 2 Stars
I was suprised at how noisey it was at the highest setting and it was not just the noise of the air moving, but an annoying noise in the motor itself. It does move air when it's working, but I've had problems with it, as the speed decreases on it's own sometimes as if the motor is burning out. I have to turn the fan off and then back on for it to work again.
Also, too much plastic use makes it feel flimsy and breakable.
Customer Review: Fan Review Summary: 3 Stars
My primary disappointment is the overall noise of the fan. Only on the lowest speed is the noise level acceptable. I never use the medium or high speeds. I've had other fans that were not as loud.
It was relatively easy to assemble. However, when oscillating, it does makes an annoying vibration sound - I'm not sure if I didn't put it together properly, but this additional noise further adds to the noise factor.
Customer Review: Cheap, noisy, not good Summary: 2 Stars
The flimsy plastic grill is really the problem. You have to assemble the fan which wasn't too bad, but the back and front grill pieces are supposed to snap together. Mine only fit so-so, and the grill pieces themselves are made of surprisingly flimsy plastic. The fan also makes a kind of a soft high-pitched whining wind noise in addition to normal fan noise I would have expected.
I would skip this one.
