I bought this fan in 2004 and it owes me not a penny. It did finally stop working about a week ago. Am planning on purchasing another - It's quiet (okay, maybe the beeping that a few poeple mentioned might bother sleeping babies), fits in a fairly small space, lightweight, and generates a very good breeze. The remote never gave me any problems and I can't remember the last time I had to change the batteries. I kept the fan on all night, every night, and for long periods during the day so it got quite a workout.Customer Review: Remote not as useful as I'd like

You can use the remote to change the fan speed and turn the oscillation on and off, but you can't turn the fan on and off with the remote (unless you want to try to set the sleep timer when you can't see what you're doing).
The fan itself works very well, and I really like the tower shape since I have it sitting in a doorway. It doesn't move as much air as the Lasko #4924 High Velocity Blower, but it's a LOT quieter on high speed.

I purchased this fan many year's ago......it's the best, this summer it finally "gave out"......of course locally non available anymore, so I was thrilled when I went to Amazon.com and found you had it, so much so.....I ordered TWO!!! Everything was right there to easily put it togther, and once again....would highly recommend this "Tower Fan" by Lasko as the best one out there!!!!Customer Review: dorm lovely

I bought this item for my dorm room. So far I haven't been able to use it there for school doesnt start back for another 20 days but for the last month it has been a nice addition to my bed room at home. I run it every day and so far it hasnt let me down. For a girl it was a new experience to assemble the stand, but I got it done. I am enjoying the Lasko Wind Tower. It is quiet and moves air quite well in a medium sized room. It would be even nicer if it had a little larger turn radius. My wife complains about the loud high pitched on/off button and that it hurts her ears but I don't find it that bad. The beepers at McDonald's are louder than that. I would buy another if I needed an additional unit.
