I first noticed the Lasko at a friend's house this summer and after appreciating how cool her living room was I knew I had to purchase one for my place. This has probably got to be one of my best investments for 2010......not only does it blow cold air but it does not make that much noise and my electricity bill has seen no damage....love love love this product and to top it all off I spent way less than my friend did for her Lasko by ordering mine on Amazon.Customer Review: Hangar 18

This fan circulates air very well. I use it in a small bedroom, and the air feels comfortable when the fan is set on low. It emits a steady whirring sound that is easy to tolerate and becomes soothing. However, it is loud. The dogs hide from it, and the cats, well cats sleep through anything. I use a CPAP machine, and between the machine and the fan, the room sounds like an airplane hangar. If you are easily awakened by noise, keep shopping.Customer Review: The best fan I owned

I own the almost identical remote-control enabled Model 4930. This fan is so powerful yet relatively quiet. In fact, I sometimes find its lowest setting to be too powerful, and I have to move it farther or turn on osicillation to mitigate that.
In terms of size, it doesn't take much room and I find that its design doesn't make it the eye-sore that standard fans are. Its construction feels solid and I'm very please with my purchase.

This fan has been a life-saver for me! New York City is experiencing a heat wave, with most days this summer being in the 90s with 100% humidity. And I can't fit an a/c in my living room window (bars) or my bedroom (no exterior window). So in desperation I bought this fan and it's amazing! It actually seems to cool the air. If you need a fan that is absolutely powerful and comes in a slim package, this is the fan for you. I saw this fan in a store last year, and was extremely impressed with its perfomance. I am a former owner of both a Patton High Velocity fan and a tower fan, and neither one compares to this. Not only that, it is far more quiet, far better constructed, and safer to use. It is the truth!!!! I can honestly say that I love my HVB!!!
