Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lasko 5365 30-Inch Digital Space-Saving Ceramic Pedestal Heater with Remote ControlCustomer Review: I like it Summary: 4 Stars
I have mixed feelings for this heater, but I would definitely tell you it is worth the money. Let me say upfront that the only negative feelings that I have for this heater stem from the fact that the first one I bought broke within a week. However I took it back to Walgreen's with the receipt and they immediately replaced it. The second heater has not failed on me once in over four years. It lasted through my entire college career and is still going strong. And I will also say that when this one does crap on me I won't hesitate to buy the newest similar model. The remote control is great for lazy people like me. When I'm all comfortable on my couch under the blankets and the heater is at the other end of the couch I just reach for the remote and turn it on/off. The remote also has buttons for oscillation and temp control. It can get very warm if you are under any covers and its close. And if you would rather place it farther away it will be adequate to heat a small/medium sized room. In short it is worth the fifty or so bucks.
Customer Review: So far so good Summary: 4 Stars
PROS:
- Pushes out a lot of heat, but will it stand the test of time?
- Takes up little to no space at all (I believe its a 1 foot diameter)
- Rather light weight, but you won't be knocking it over due to the base
- Timer to keep it running for a certain number of hours
- Unit rotates from left to right
- High, low and auto power setting
- Blue LED display
- Comes with a remote
CONS:
- Rotation speed is somewhat slow, and cannot be changed
- Thermostat reading increases faster than the room (since its on the heater)
Final Words:
After moving to Minnesota I figured that getting a space heater would help to reduce my utility bills, so I went ahead and picked up this unit. So far this heater has been getting the job done without the bulk. Its very portable, and I usually take it out the bedroom when I have guests... unless of course... ok, off topic. Now it will have to stand the test of time.
Customer Review: So far, so good. It performs as advertised. Summary: 4 Stars
My dentist had one of these in his waiting area and I started tinkering with it. I was scolded for temporarily changing its setting to 70 degrees. (Just wanted to see what it felt like since it was set at 63 and wasn't running.)
I asked the receptionist why she was so uptight about this. She advised that when this heater is set at 70 degrees it triggers the office's thermostat (probably 20 feet away) and shuts off heat to the rest of the office.
That's all I had to hear! Now that I own one I'm not disappointed. Not sure about buying a bunch of these and using them to heat the entire house, but a single unit can certainly take the chill out of a moderate size room.
True it doesn't have an automatic shutoff if knocked over but it does run amazingly cool to the touch. Worth the tradeoff. We just don't leave it run unattended for lengthy periods of time.
Give it a shot. It probably won't disappoint.
Customer Review: Nice heater, but fan does not blow heat far enough. Summary: 3 Stars
This is a nice heater, with very nice features. I will say that it will heat a small to midsized room well. But for the larger room I bought it for, I expected the fan and oscillation to blow heat a little farther than it does. You will not feel heat coming directly from this heater when more than a couple feet away. Don't get me wrong it will eventually heat the room, but if you are looking for something that will blow the heat on you when sitting on the couch... buy another heater. We purchased several of the: Lasko tower heaters with MUCH better success. Lasko 751320 Ceramic Tower Heater with Remote Control . These thing s blow out much better heat and even though they are not off the ground like this heater, they do more than enough heating from about 4 feet away to warm the couch where we sit on cold nights and relax.
Customer Review: Works great to take the chill off in our bedroom!! Summary: 4 Stars
Works great to take the chill out of our bedroom! We turn it on 15 minutes prior to going to bed and it raises the temperature by about 5 degrees in that short amount of time! We then turn it off when we climb in to bed using the little remote that I keep on my nightstand. In the morning when the alarm clock goes off I hit snooze and then I grab the remote for the heater and with the touch of one large button on the remote the heater is on and it has warmed the room up to a toasty temperature which makes it a little bit easier to get out of the covers on those cold winter mornings. I did not notice any real change in my electric bill this winter, but we only use the heater in small increments. I have not tried using to heat a large space like our family room, but to take the chill off in a bedroom or home office, it's worth purchasing. Looks sleek and stylish too! I am going to buy my mother in law one for mothers day!
