Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lasko 5365 30-Inch Digital Space-Saving Ceramic Pedestal Heater with Remote Control

Customer Review: Read the Warning Label
Summary: 2 Stars

When they say do not plug into an extension cord, they really mean it. Problem is, I did not read it. How often does any one read the label on an everyday product? First had it plugged into an extension cord in the living room. This lasted for a couple of days till on evening I heard a pop and smelled smoke. The cord was on fire. After testing the heater in the wall socket like someone suggested it worked so ofcourse I figured it was the cord and not the heater. I plugged it in again into a surge protector. (I ride the little yellow bus;)) What happened, I'm sure you are wondering. Needless to say it now remains unplugged.

Customer Review: Good Purchase for the price.
Summary: 4 Stars

Good Purchase for the price.
It won't replace the heater unit for your entire apartment, or even a studio, but will keep the room warm & cozy when you need it, especially when your apartment is not well isolated to keep the wind and chill outside.

PROS:
- Nice design & good size
- Quiet operation
- Timer
- Two modes of operation
- Build-in thermostat & temperature display
- Price

CONS:
- Has hard time heating moderate size room to 74F from 63F (central heat is not working) when outside temp is in the 40s and 50s.

Customer Review: Chemical smell, my $12 heater works better
Summary: 1 Stars

Ugh.

I've had this for a couple of days and just finished packing it up to return to Target.

It may be common to all ceramic heaters, but this thing has an awful chemical smell that's irritating my throat. I was at a friend's house last night, and his Lasko ceramic heater had the same smell.

For all the fancy buttons, pedestal and oscillation, it doesn't do a very good job of warming. I pulled the little 1500 watt, $12.95 heater out of my bathroom and put it in the living room where the Lasko had been. It does a better job of taking the chill out of the air!

Customer Review: I love this heater
Summary: 5 Stars

I had been searching online for a heater for months. I looked at every review. I got one at target for $50 and had it for about 1 month. The air started coming out cold once the heater felt the room was warm enough! Finally I started to borrow my roommates heater - this one. It was awesome. Heats a room really fast. You can feel the heat right away. The cord gets a little warm when it's on too long but it turns off by itself if it gets too warm so no worries there. My roommate has had hers for about 3 years so I'm confident mine will last a long time.
Buy this! You'll be glad you did.

Customer Review: Nice affordable space heater
Summary: 4 Stars

Ordered this through Amazon as the local Home Depot didn't have it in stock. Assembly was simple, only a few pieces and about 10 screws. Comes with a remote and batteries. Set to high and 75 degrees, and warm air comes out in less than 20 seconds. I'd say this is perfect for a small room, maybe about 100 sq feet. My only complaint would be that the fan on high setting is audible, but with a TV or stereo on you will not notice it. On low setting, it's much quieter. Overall, it's a nice value, looks sleek in your living room, and does what it's meant to do. I would recommend.
