Customer Review: it's ok now, but I'd recommend buying it from your neighborhood dealer in the first place...

After reading all the positive reviews, I liked the idea of having the item delivered to my door (I am a single woman with a small car). Easy, convenient, ready to go. Wrong.
Right out of the box, no battery charger. So they had to ship that out. (It arrived within a few days.) In the meantime, I used the manual starter and lo and behold, the mower locks up and doesn't roll after 3 or 4 feet. Absolutely no help calling Amazon - "sorry, this item is not returnable" - or Lawn Boy - "sorry, you'll have to take it in to an authorized dealer". What a hassle.
Luckily I have a friend with a pickup truck, mechanical skill, and lots of patience. Load the thing in his truck, schlep it to the dealer, haul it out of the truck, wait in line. Turns out the dealer has a 5 to 6 week waiting list, but he is kind enough to look at it, and when he turns it on its side, we all hear a bunch of parts rattling around inside the rear wheel. He said if we want to take the wheel apart ourselves, he would print out a page detailing the parts list and assembly diagram for it. So we lug the thing back home in the truck, dissect the wheel, compare it with the diagram, and find that all the bolts are rattling around because they failed to insert a little spring clamp, causing it to lock up and as a result chew up the inside surfaces of both plastic rear wheels.
Call Lawn Boy again, tell the whole story for the 2nd or 3rd time, (different person each time, bad muzak, long holds, rude questions) give them the part number, but no, they will not send the missing part. Their customer service should be renamed customer abuse. Lawn center guy does not have the part in stock. So off we go to the hardware store to search for the missing 50 cent part - which was not easy to find - then back home to struggle to put it all back together again.
What a freaking nightmare! the whole weekend shot! Poorest piece of workmanship my boyfriend ever saw.
Some items you can order online and if there's a problem you can return it - but this isn't one of them. And if I had been on my own with all this, I would have really been stuck. Now that it is working, I like it just fine, but I will never again order something like this online. I really regret that I didn't buy it from live human beings in my own neighborhood, rather than anonymous, apathetic strangers thousands of miles away.

The Lawn-Boy 10642 is ready to mulch, bag, or side discharge, depending on your needs. Without the bag, the mower will mulch the grass and leaf clippings back into your lawn. Alternatively, you can collect the grass and leaf clippings directly into the bag, leaving your lawn neat and clean.
For further convenience, the height of the blades is easily adjustable by setting the oversized handle grips to one of the large notches on each wheel. There are 7 different heights available between 1 and 4 inches, so you'll be sure to find the perfect setting for your lawn.
Designed with You in Mind
Built with you in mind, the Lawn-Boy 10642 has plenty of user-friendly features. To start, a one-piece handle increases maneuverability, and the lightweight, 20-inch steel cutting deck is perfect for mowing in tight areas.
Additionally, the top-mounted bagging system makes it easy to empty and replace the bag by simply inserting or removing the grass bag handle from the two notches at the base of the mower handle.
