Customer Review: Lifesaver during Hurricane Ike
Summary: 5 Stars

I had come across this lantern at a store and just picked one up to have. Hurricane Ike came a couple of weeks later. The light stays on for a good amount of time with only a few cranks. We had issues with the radio reception but I think that it was our location rather than the light itself. There is a small night light on the lamp that would stay lit for upwards of 8 hours on a few cranks. My then 4 year old, would take it to bed with her and because it would stay lit all night she wouldn't get scared and could get up and go to the bathroom and whatnot. I discovered the cell phone adapter AFTER the hurricane and they cheerfully sent me one for my iPhone. (although the cell towers were out so it didn't really matter anyway). I have not tested that out, but I imagine that it would give some charge but not a full one. The power was out for 2 weeks, so having this on hand and not going through batteries was a LIFESAVER!! I am ordering a couple more to have on hand just in case there is another hurricane.

Customer Review: Lanterns Have Come a Long Way
Summary: 5 Stars

This Is the lantern to get If your looking for light when the power goes out just to play cards by, or for seeing In pitch black to find your way to and use the Bathroom. I had a really good flashlight that just didn't make It for anything but walking. When this light came I thought how small It looked and probably was not going to do the job. Boy was I wrong.
The best thing also Is the hand crank In case you run out of batteries. Makes this Invaluable. And for $16.95 this Is such a deal. No It may not be made for rain or rugged outdoor weather, but that would cost a lot more and Is all unnecessary. The radio Is not the greatest but Is just a secondary feature for this kind of money. I keep a walkman charged.
But If the power Is out for an extended time the radio will come In handy.
It's so bright for so small. Wonderful Item.
More bonus features of being able to charge your cell etc. REALLY make this the Home lantern to get for emergencies!

Customer Review: Versatile and portable!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this lantern for a trip to rural Mexico and had plenty of occasions to use it down there.

As a lantern, it proved to be reliable and sufficiently bright. I never used a battery and didn't mind the occasional task of winding it up.

I got the most utility out of its capacity as a portable speaker. Being able to throw it in your backpack and not worry about battery life or finding a convenient electrical outlet makes it a very versatile little music player. Be warned: the speaker is small and doesn't put out a lot of volume. You wouldn't want to over-do it b/c you could easily blow out the speaker. I only tried the radio function a couple times and didn't have much luck, but that could be because there wasn't many stations broadcasting nearby. I haven't used it to charge a cellphone either.

In short, this lantern is a bargain and works exactly as advertised. I recommend it highly.

Customer Review: Good but LED lights make damages on my eyes
Summary: 4 Stars

Life+Gear Lifelight is great one. It works by Crank or AAA x 3.
Accessory are come with Audio input and Mobile phone charger. The mobile charger is for Nokia models.
Radio function is pretty good, and mp3 speaker is good too.
Siren is not that loud enough. Also in Life+Gear homepage's manual, NightLight is function as repelling mosquito, I'm curious about that. Directional compass is good idea.

What's not good?
LED is too bright. When I look at the lamp, they hurt my eyes.
I hope there's some kind cover sheet inside so that my eyes are protected.
Also LED lights are not bright enough for making my room bright.
I hope there's mirror inside so that they reflect each other to make my room bright enough.
In addition, it is not waterproof. NO GOOD!!
Note that they make Caution "Be sure to wind up minimum one minute for each re-charge."

Customer Review: So far so good
Summary: 4 Stars

So far I really like this little lantern. It's hard to do fine tuning on the radio, but you can use your mp3 player, so who cares. It doesn't come with a cell adapter, you have to purchase it (pay s&h), but since you can charge your cell that's pretty not too bad. The face looks waterproof, but it's just a protective cover over the radio and nightlight. Speaking of the nightlight, it's one of my favorite things about this lantern. It only uses 1 LED to illuminate so you can save the battery and it lights pretty well. The siren seems pretty stupid though. It doesn't feel well made, the little handle on top comes right off, so replace it or don't rely on it for any sort of survival. All and all pretty good, and great for the money, but I would have paid ten dollars more if it had been waterproof and had a rope handle or something permanently attached.
