The LightAir IonFlow 50S Air Purifier is that rarest of finds; a product that is everything it claims to be and more. I have tried many air purifiers over the years with various results. I noticed over time that they fell into one of the following categories:
1. Essentially worthless- unable to do its job. Usually because of a poor design or by being underpowered.
2. Disposable- Quite a few air purifiers would be fine for a while and then lose effectiveness or stop working completely (usually within the 1st year of ownership). Typically the craftsmanship would be poor and the materials used would be cheap. Customer service would be a joke as well, so trying to fix one of these was a nightmare.
3. Overpriced- Very common category. The advertising would promise the moon, but the reality was that you were paying an extremely high price for mediocrity. Typically includes an ongoing cost for filters as well.
4. Esthetically Deficient- I mean seriously loud, ugly, huge, heavy, dirty, a hassle to clean, or all of the above.
I wish I had the patience to actually categorize each of the air purifiers I have tried so that you would stay away from them, but the best I can do is to say that the ONLY air purifier that I have ever owned that has done its job exactly as advertised while remaining totally silent, is easy to clean, has nothing to periodically replace and is actually stylish enough that many find it attractive is this one right here: the LightAir IonFlow 50S. Now that I have found it and put it to the test, there is no other air purifier that I would own. Period.
