Customer Review: Wonderful ceiling fan/light, but TERRIBLE customer service

We purchased the Litex Coquillage 52" ceiling fan. Let me first say that the light/fan is beautiful and well made. However, our experience with the manufacturer was pretty poor. We ordered it and paid for one-day express shipping. We had an electrician here ready to install it. The first day he came, the package didn't arrive as expected (we did request and received a refund for the extra shipping cost). The electrician had to leave without installing it, and we had to reschedule. We finally got that light and the electrician came again. When assembling the light, the electrician and I discovered that a critical part was missing (the "collar"). The electrician had to depart, and we incurred a 2nd day's expense. I immediately called the company (Litex) to order the missing part. I asked that the order be expedited and that I would pay for express shipping. I was told that there was no way to expedite the order because "it has to come from our warehouse" and that it probably would take a week to receive it. I told him that this was a significant problem since we were trying to finish our newly remodeled guest room for holiday guests. The customer service rep said there was nothing he could do. I was pretty frustrated. Well, the one week wait turned into two weeks. We did finally get it installed, but not until after we had incurred a considerable additional installation charge. What was worse was the total disregard for any form of customer service by the manufacturer. The light is gorgeous, but I would never do business with this company again.
