Customer Review: A good option to replace an old toggle switch

Last month while we were remodeling a bathroom I came across the lutron dimmer and decided to try it in place of the ancient (1950s) toggle switch that made a loud snap sound whenever it was used. This is my first experience using a dimmer switch in our home--it fit perfectly in place of the old switch, and was quick to install. My relatively short one month experience using the lutron dimmer suggests that the slider performs smoothly and does its job. Time will tell if it lives up to the energy saving claims on the package.
One word of caution: I noticed that there is a faint humm/buzz sound coming from the light fixture whenever the dimmer switch is in operation. Our electrician assured us that this is normal for any kind of dimmer switch. It is not loud enough to bother me, and I got used to it quickly. However if you are sensitive to that type of noise you may want to avoid dimmer switches in general.
