This product comes up in certain searches for speed controllers for massage devices, but this is wrong. The manufacturer instructions clearly state:
"CAUTION: To avoid overheating and possible damage to other equipment, do not use to control receptacles, fluorescent lighting fixtures, motor-operated appliances, or transformer-supplied appliances."
It should not be used with massagers, but I'm happy with it in conjunction with my halogen torchiere.

This dimmer is well made, with a good feel to it.
Only issue I have is that the slider is very non-linear at low illumination levels. That is, while it is easy to adjust between half and full brightness, it is very hard to adjust between zero and quarter brightness -- which is what I want it for.
Contrary to manufacturer's information, there is no LED to help you find it in the dark.

This is the best solution for my mother-in-law, whose arthritis was making it very painful for her to twist those little three-way lamp-knobs anymore. We had thought of getting a touch-lamp for her, but it seemed a shame since the old one works perfectly well. With this little dimmer, the button is very easy for her to slide, even though her hands have a hard time gripping things.Customer Review: Great product

My wife and I recently bought a pre-lit LED Christmas tree. In the store it didn't seem terribly bright, but when we got it home it was almost blinding. I did a little research and found this little gem. It works perfectly for dimming the LED lights on the tree. We are no longer blind while trying to watch TV in our living room. The product description says to not use it with a motor but it works fine running two 150 watt box fans. It is nice to be able to set the exact speed that you want on both fans at the same time. The three speeds the fans have lack the precision needed. You can set them at a super low speed so that they are very quiet but you still get some air movement.
