My daughter gave me one a few Christmas ago, a different brand and when it stopped working I really missed it. I went on line and found this one at Amazon and so far I love it. I only gave 4 stars because I haven't had it a year yet and also its hard to get it at the lowest dimmer without it going out, you have to really work with it.Customer Review: It dims

We use this dimmer on a floor lamp in the baby room. It does what it is supposed to do- dim. The slider control is very sensitive and the lamp flickers sometimes, but this might be the lamp and not the dimmer switch. I wish it were a bit easier to adjust. The switch lies on the floor but I have to pick it up to adjust it.Customer Review: Great for Babe electric spinning wheels

I use this as a speed regulator for a Babe Electric spinning wheel. Since the Babe's are very low end machines, and controlling precise speed with a sewing machine foot control is impossible, this is the perfect low-cost solution. Cruise control! My mother is 88 years old and has many health issues, arthritis of the hands being one. She can finally read in bed at night because of this easy to use "lamp dimmer". Hurrah!
On the other end of the age scale our three year old grandson also can "read" in bed at night with the same dimmer!
