Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lutron TT-300NLH-BL Credenza Lamp Dimmer BlackCustomer Review: Lutron lamp dimmer Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased three of these dimmers to use as controllers for 300W Halogen floor lamps. I have had them for a few weeks now and as far as function is concerned I have no complaints. They have a smooth action, there is no filament hum or ringing that you sometimes have with dimmers, and they do not get too hot (they do warm up though). The only real complaint I have about them is the way the plug is designed. You need to plug the dimmer plug into the the wall socket and then plug the lamp plug into the dimmer plug. By the time it's all done the plug combo is sticking out from the wall about 3 inches. It's not a real problem for me, but if you have space constraints you may need to get an extension cord or plug strip. All in all, a good product that works as advertised and at a reasonable price.
Customer Review: Great item - durable, useful, good price. Summary: 5 Stars
I've had one of these in service for about 2 years, on my nightstand, which gets A LOT of use (I'm somewhat bed-bound, AND sensitive to light) ... I adjust the brightness often and every day-- it still works and looks like new - good product!
For me, the LED (perfect brightness) on it, which is 'on' when the dimmer is off, is VERY, VERY helpful--in the dark, and it's not *too* bright (perfect) -- needless to say, at bedside it is instantly found (without glasses even!) --- and a little trick that I do to keep track of my glasses, is: keep a case right by the dimmer button w/LED on the night-stand, and they also are instantly easy-to-find in the dark 8-)
Customer Review: Works Great! Summary: 5 Stars
This works exactly as I expected.
I don't have a problem with the power staying on when I turn my lights off at night -- there is a slight bit of resistance when the dimmer is all the way down, just before it is completley off, and you have to "click" it into the off position to completley cut off the power (not really, but I can't think of a better way to describe this), but this is how all dimmers and/or light switches work ... not a problem unless you can't figure out how to operate a light switch...
Customer Review: Works great for a year or two... Summary: 4 Stars
We use this dimmer in our bedroom and in our son's room and it works perfectly to adjust the light to different levels for reading, sleeping and activity. The only problem is that both of our dimmers got glitchy after a year or two and one kind of sticks and the other (in my toddler's room)would go out while I was reading him bedtime stories and make him upset. We ordered a replacement and it is working well. The new little red light they attached to the base is a great new addition as it makes finding it easier in a dark room.
Customer Review: Handiest little item ever Summary: 5 Stars
I first discovered these devices about 20 years ago and still think they are the handiest little items ever invented. For bedside lamps and occasional lamps around the house it is so convenient to have a simple little unobtrusive switch sitting on the table top that allows you to deal with the brightness at will. Amazon has the best price ever for these as well. Try one and I know you will be back for more.
