Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lutron TT-300NLH-WH Credenza Lamp Dimmer WhiteCustomer Review: quiet, handy, and simple Summary: 5 Stars
You should ONLY use the "regular" old fashioned light bulbs, NOT the newer spiral energy-saver ones because they usually aren't recommended for dimming anyway, plus they make the switch BUZZ. Once we figured this out we had no problems with buzzing at all.
We were plugging 2 lights into this switch (hanging lights on either side of our bed), but realized that the switch is made to only have one plugged into it. We ended up plugging the 2 lights into an extension cord, then plugging the extension cord into the dimmer switch cord, et voila!
Overall, a very discreet switch that sits there on our side table, and very easy to use!
Customer Review: Great product -- much better than what I had. Summary: 5 Stars
I should have shopped on amazon.com for this before buying on QVC because I can read the reviews and see what real people have to say about the product. That is why I shop here so much. That and no tax and free shipping in most cases.
Apparently there were not enough reviews on the dimmers at QVC when I bought them, or I didn't listen to the negative ones. I should have. Those dimmers were very hard to set the level and eventually broke. Even my electrical engineer, gadget loving husband thought they were very poorly designed.
These dimmers are extremely easy to set the level and so far they have held up very well.
Customer Review: Does exactly what it's designed to do. (Bulb makes a whining noise though) Summary: 5 Stars
Super simple product. Does exactly what it's designed to do. And the red LED lights up when it's off so that you're not fumbling around in the dark for the switch.
The only caveat is that my standard incandescent (40 watt?) bulb tends to make a medium-high pitched whining noise when used with this dimmer. It doesn't really bother me but I can see it bothering someone else. I'm not sure if it's something to do with my particular light bulb or if this happens with all bulbs.
But I'm sure this whining isn't the fault of the dimmer, so I'm still giving it 5 stars.
Customer Review: almost there Summary: 4 Stars
I'm comparing it to the one I had from Ikea that I bought to use with two hanging lights in my dining room. The old one blew out after six months of use. This one seems nicer and works fine, I also like that it is capable of handling up to 300w unlike the Ikea one that was half that. I'd give it 5 stars if it only had a longer cord... I'm running it from the outlet down by the trimming and up the wall where it is comfortable to reach when walking into the room and the Ikea one was about a foot or two longer which worked much better.
Customer Review: You will be surprised, but believe me you don't know how many times it becomes useful ! Summary: 5 Stars
You will be surprised, but believe me you don't know how many times it becomes useful so you don't have to bend down to connect and disconnect lamps, fans and other appliances around your house. I needed several of these extensions so purchase three different brands and they are all about the same. Just go ahead and choose according to length, color and price wise.
This particular item has the additional benefit of being a dimmer specially or only for lamps.
