It started when I purchased one of these, and I now have 8 of them throughout my home. Works perfectly when you've got a table lamp with 3 100 watt bulbs, but rarely require that much light. Backlit design is very nice, easy to locate in the dark. Little rubber feet keep it from sliding off the end table. These days $15 gets you nothing - what a surprise to find these bargains. This is an amazingly easy way to create a dimmer light. Just plug your lamp into this and you have a dimmer! Got it for my 3-year-old's room because she was insisting on leaving the light on at bedtime (scared of the dark) and I didn't want it to be so bright. This works great because I can adjust the lighting to just the right dimness. Then I go in later and slide it all the way off. Very easy - and she can do it easily herself too.Customer Review: Great for bedside and the disabled.

I have one of these on the side of my bed for my lamp and for my infant son's room. Perfect for not blinding my husband! I also bought one for my disabled mother who cannot reach up to turn on a lamp. She adores it and it gives her a touch of independence! The only issue I have is there is a SLIGHT hum that emits from the unit when placed on a flat surface. I often have to place it on the side to reduce the noise.Customer Review: Perfectly simple!

My husband installed new light switches for the ceiling fan he installed in the baby's room. That meant that the lamp hooked up to the wall switch was gone and so was the dimmer switch! I had to improvise and bought this dimmer. Works just as good as everyone said it would in the reviews. I'm quite pleased. It's so easy to use!!! I have used these for years. They have beccome hard to find, but leave it to Amazon to have it. What I like is its appearance. It takes up very little space and looks good.
Be sure not to overload its capacity though, which I believe is 300 watts. And make sure not to spill anything liquid on it by accident or it will become an "on and off switch" only!
